An incident on the sidelines of the University of Florida's last football game of the regular season has led to a former junior college coach who made headlines via a Netflix show to speak out.

Jason Brown, who was one of the main focuses of the series 'Last Chance U', took to Twitter to air complaints about Florida head coach Billy Napier.

Those issues stem from a video appearing to show Gators freshman wide receiver Eugene Wilson III slapping the arm of graduate assistant coach David Doeker.

That incident came late in a game between hated rivals Florida State - where Doeker appeared to grab onto the back of Wilson's jersey as he tried going on the field.

Enraged, Wilson turned around and smacked Doeker's arm off him and walked onto the field anyways.

Brown couldn't believe what he saw and posted, 'These kids lost their damn mind! How he just walked back on the field and played like nothing is wrong! Napier has no control.'

The 24-15 loss has likely doomed Florida to a season without a 'bowl' appearance as the team ended 2023 at 5-7. Teams with that record rarely are included in a bowl, only doing so if not enough others finish with a 6-6 mark.

Brown rose to fame, or rather notoriety, for his role as the brash head coach of Independence Community College in Kansas on seasons three and four of the Netflix hit show 'Last Chance U'.

While the show highlighted how players moved from the junior college (or JUCO) ranks to getting noticed by big-name colleges, it was Brown himself that became known for his tough demeanor.

At the end of season four, it was revealed that Brown had sent problematic text messages to a freshman from Germany - saying that the coach would be the 'new Hitler' in the player's life. Brown resigned from his position.

Stemming from that, Brown was charged with eight felonies related to blackmail and identity theft after he allegedly posed as a lawyer that sent cease-and-desist letters to news outlets so they would stop reporting on the aforementioned text fiasco.

By 2021, those charges were dismissed. Brown then moved on to other ventures and has not returned to the coaching ranks.
